My concern is that science has been gated for the last 6-8 years. In many states in elementary science , less than 20 minutes a week has been put aside for the teaching of science, and inquiry based investigations have been put on hold. Congress makes decisions based on " old idea". Transformational learning tools exist. I asked the head of the Math Project about computational math and science. He admitted that he did not know what that was. I am concerned. We need OTA to certify, share and let us know educational practices that work. Some of these practices are going on at NSF, but dissemination of transformational learning could take place much faster if OTA existed and we stopped guessing our way to the future using
information from vendors and the press.
